Derrick Andrews Powley is a graduating senior at Tampa Bay Technical High School.
Derrick is a member of several organizations such as the National Honor Society. He is the President of the Men of Vision Organization at Tampa Bay Technical High School and was enrolled in Advanced Placement classes. He participated on track and field team and has received several 1st place awards in the 100-meter dash. Derrick was instrumental in leading the Tampa Bay Technical High School track team to District and State Championships. He is an active member of First Baptist Church of Progress Village.
Jaylen Hill is a graduating senior of Tampa Bay Technical High School. He plays the piano, baseball and volunteers with Metropolitan Ministries. As a volunteer with Westside Cultural Arts, Jaylen made a difference and changed lives by assisting youth with related projects including resume’ and interviewing skills to obtain a job in the work force.
During his academic career he was enrolled in the STEM program. Jaylen is also an honor student and has excelled in his Advanced Placement classes. While enrolled at Tampa Bay Technical High School Jaylen was also enrolled in the Dental Assistant Program.
Jaylen plans to attend the University of South Florida and obtain his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. His future plans include becoming a Licensed Board Certified Dentist.
Joshua McDonald is a graduating senior of Middleton High School. He is a member of several organizations such as the National Honor Society, the Middleton High School Tiger Football Team, Middleton High School Yearbook Editor and a volunteer with Tampa Bay Food Sorter.
Joshua is a member of the current Men of Vision Organization, Tampa Bay Chapter. He attends Tyler Temple United Methodist Church where is a Youth Worship Leader.
He plans to attend Morehouse University and major in Journalism and Sports Communication. Joshua’s future career plans include becoming a Sports Journalist and he plans to write novels.
Nyshia Martin is a graduate of East Bay High School. She is an early 11th grade graduating senior student who ranks 29th out of 582 students. Thus she is in the top 5 percent of her graduating class.
She is a member of the Student Government Association, the National Honor Society and she volunteers in her community and church. She has tutored students ages 3 to 14 for several years to enhance their reading skills and she is the Vice President of her class at East Bay High School.
Nyshia is a first generation American coming from a Jamaican family. She has experienced the hardship of becoming a United States Citizen. Thus, she thrives to assist in changing some of the immigration laws of this country.
Nyshia plans to attend Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University. She will major in Pre-law with the desire of becoming an attorney specializing in Immigration Law.
Joshua Salmon is a graduate of Riverview High School and he is a Tampa born native. Whether serving as a youth Minister at the City of Restoration Church or as the President of Heritage Yields Pride & Excellence (HYPE), Joshua has remained extremely busy and productive.
Joshua became interested in HYPE because this club was needed to embrace the African American Culture at Riverview High School.
Joshua aspires to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing. He has plans to attend Morehouse University. After earning his Bachelor’s Degree he aspires to utilize his knowledge gained to create grass root after school and summer programs focused on developing the gifts of children in our Tampa Bay Minority Community.
Joidyn Clark is a graduate of Tampa Bay Technical High School Academy of Health Professionals where she remained an honor roll student and was active in many service organizations. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Health Occupational Students of America (HOSA), and the girl’s flag football team.
Outside of the academic arena she was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Precious Pearls Youth Group and she is a faithful member of First Baptist Church of College Hill.
Joidyn will attend Florida Mechanical & Agricultural University and major in Nursing. Her future career goal includes being a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Ricardo Fryson is a graduate of Howard W. Blake High School and he was a Concert Master. He has excelled with his musical talent and was selected as the Director of the Blake High School Gospel Choir.
Ricardo is a multi-instrumentalist who is cultivating his musical talent as both a tuba player and percussionist in the Blake High School Symphonic Band. In addition he has also performed competently in the Blake High School Marching Band on the drum line. He is also a member of the local chapter of the NAACP, AVID, the Bible Club and the Key Club.
Ricardo is a member of Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Inc. He plans to attend Florida State University where he will major in Jazz Piano.
Delanie Council is a graduate of Jefferson High School where she participated in National Honor Society, Thespian Honor Society, City of Tampa Mayor’s Youth Corp, National Art Society, Tampa Police Department Youth Academy, SCI Rising Stars, National Family Career and Community Leaders of America and she volunteered with the Tampa Police Department and McGruff Costume & Community.
Delanie was a dual enrolled student who was named the 2019 Anne Frank Humanitarian of the Year by Major Jane Castor and Senator Janet Cruz at the St. Petersburg Holocaust Museum.
She plans to attend Johnson & Wales University majoring in Culinary & Food Service Management.
Teanna is a graduate of Jefferson High School where she participated in a plethora of extra curricular activities while being enrolled in honors classes.
She was the President of the AVID Club, a member of the National Honor Society, NTHS, FCCLA, NAPS, HBCU, and the Student Government Association. Along with her club involvement, she was a student athlete who has played volleyball all four years, and participated on the varsity cheerleading team. She was a dual enrolled student and she will be attending Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University with the desire of becoming a Pediatric Speech Pathologist.
Teanna also plans to join the military (Air Force) after obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree.
