Tamia Williams is a senior high school student attending Durant High School. She is a member of several organizations such as the Senior Council where she serves as President, Future Business Leaders of America, the Black Student Union, the National Honor Society, the Varsity Volleyball Team, and the Black History Brain Bowl. She is the Co-Captain of the Step Team Alpha Cougar Omega, and she volunteers at Turkey Creek Middle School, Shields Middle School, and South Florida Baptist Hospital. Tamia has received several prestigious awards and recognitions such as Homecoming Queen at Durant High for 2022, Covergirl Cosmetic Brand Model, 2022 Strawberry Queen Court Member, and winner of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) 1st District for marketing. She is also the scholarship recipient of the Plant City Improvement League. She enjoys singing in the church choir. Tamia will attend Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University and pursue a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Tatiana Bell is a senior high school student at Tampa Bay Technical High School. She is enrolled in several honors classes and is dual enrolled at Hillsborough Community College. She is a member of the Tampa Bay Technical School Gems Dance Team, President of the Ladies of Essence Service Club, a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club. She volunteers at the Woman’s Center for Success, and she is a Camp Counselor at the local YMCA. In addition to excelling in her studies, and participating in all of her extracurricular activities, she still found time to compete in the Miss Juneteenth Tampa Pageant. She won the crown and later that year she was also crowned Miss Florida HBCU. Tatiana invented and created her own make up lip gloss brand at the age of 14 years old. She started her own company with the $50.00 she received as a Christmas present. Young Queen Beauty, LLC is a make-up brand company that promotes women of all ages and encourages feminine growth through sisterhood and beauty. Tatiana plans to attend Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University.
DeAndrea Daughtry is a senior high school student at Riverview High School. She is an integral part of the AVID program which supports first generation students aspiring to attend a four-year college. DeAndrea is dual enrolled at Hillsborough Community College, and a member of several organizations such as the Environmental Club, National Honor Society, the College Club, Student Government Association, and HYPE (Heritage, Yield, Pride and Excellence). DeAndrea has a passion for science and became fascinated with Radiology specifically. She desires to pursue a career in the medical field with an emphasis in Radiology. Her ultimate goal is to own a Medical Radiology Practice to assist in diagnosing and treating advanced medical conditions. She is Valedictorian ranking first out of a class of 546 at Riverview High School. DeAndrea volunteers at Metropolitan Ministries local pantry. She plans to attend Lehigh University and pursue a bachelor’s degree in Biology.
Jadon Robinson is a senior high school student attending Brandon High School where he has been an active member in JROTC. In the JROTC program he held leadership roles such as Captain, Staff Historian, Inspector General and Drill Commander (where has been a Color Guard State Winner). Jadon is also a member of GRAD Nation, HABSE where they competed in the Black Brain Bowl, the Thurgood Marshall Law Club, and he is a member of the National Honor Society. Jadon’s future aspirations include the area of Biomedical Engineering. He plans to focus on the incorporation and development of medical devices such as dental implants, dialysis machines, prosthetic limbs, MRO devices and corrective lenses. As a future Neurosurgeon, he aspires to become an innovator within the field of Neurosurgery. Jadon plans to attend Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University while studying an advanced curriculum with an emphasis of medicine.
Timothy Salmon is a senior high school student at Riverview High School where he is a member of several club organizations. Timothy possesses a heart for community service and strives for academic excellence. Timothy has learned to balance excelling in his academics, being involved in extracurricular activities, working in a part-time job, and playing basketball. He also serves as the Live Stream Director at the City of Restoration Church. Timothy is very observant, and he takes the initiative to find solutions to problems proactively. During the COVID 19 Pandemic, most church organizations were forced to find other ways to minister to the church family since congregation of the masses was not allowed in the public. Timothy led the decision-making process to create a live streaming option so that church services could be viewed online via the internet. This new way of experiencing church service at home became a futuristic concept for most church affiliations. Timothy plans to attend Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and pursue a bachelor’s degree in Sports Journalism.
Brandon Bethune is a senior high school student attending Tampa Bay Technical High School where he is very active in various organizations. Brandon is a proponent for giving back in the community. He volunteers feeding the homeless, assisting at the Trinity Café, participates in several city and county community park clean ups and is actively involved in his church ministry, Love First Christian Center. He also served on and the Hillsborough County Student Code of Conduct Committee. He is a member of the Architecture Club and a leader with the Men of Vision organization. He is also student athlete, having participated in football and track. Brandon prides himself on striving and challenging himself consistently academically by completing all honor classes. He plans to attend Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University and pursue a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering.
Auria Cole is senior high school student attending Durant High School who enjoys volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club and feeding the homeless throughout the community. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Step Team where she is the captain, and a member of the Black Student Union. She performs and competes at the Leonard’s Academy of Dance. As a leader at the Academy, Auria has a genuine love for her teammates. She always provides support and encouragement in the time of need. She is always willing to help others achieve their goals which ultimately propels the entire team to success. As a National Honor Society member, she plans to attend Hillsborough Community College to pursue an associate degree in Nursing. After completing her first two years, Auria will transfer to Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University to pursue her bachelor’s degree in the field of Medicine.
Jordan Haywood is a senior high school student attending Hillsborough High who is an exceptional enthusiastic student with extreme determination who possesses phenomenal interpersonal skills. He and works well independently and in a group setting. He is a member of the Men of Vision organization, and he enjoys volunteering in the local community. Jordan is enrolled in honor classes through Virtual Florida School and is dual enrolled at Hillsborough Community College. Jordan strives and challenges himself continuously while enrolled in advanced courses and playing on the high school football team. He plans to attend Webber International to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. His future plans include being a Founder for a marketing agency called “Dream Street Family” where he can continue to give back to his local community. Jordan has a life-long passion to give back to his local community in any way possible.
Caleb Larkins is a senior high school student attending Riverview High School who is highly motivated, hardworking, and very enthusiastic regarding his academics. He enjoys volunteering at the Life Treasures Thrift Store where he is responsible for organizing and arranging miscellaneous items and clothes for shoppers to purchase. Caleb enjoys focusing on eating healthy and maintaining an active lifestyle. He participates in various sports, and he is a member of the College Club where he assists other students prepare for the rigors of university life, and he helps them locate schools that fit their academic goals prior to enrollment. He enjoys music and playing the piano. He strives to excel academically, and he is an honor student who plans to attend Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University and pursue a bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Jailen Marcelin is a senior high school student attending Bell Creek Academy where his honors include the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, National Merit Scholarship Program Letter of Commendation, the Cambridge AICE Diploma, AP Scholar with Distinction, the Key Club, the Student Government Association, the National English Honor Society and he is dual enrolled and a member of the National Honor Society. As the student body president in his senior year and the National Honor Society President, Jailen possesses a sense of purpose, a recognition that his life has much significance, and he has a passion for helping others succeed. He shows leadership both in the classroom and out in the community. Jailen volunteers with the American Cancer Society, Metropolitan Ministries, Feeding Tampa Bay, Habitat for Humanity, and Gi Gi’s Playhouse which is a safe playful environment for children who have Downs Syndrome. He plans to attend Howard University and pursue a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. As a dual enrolled MD-PhD student Jailen is involved in various research studies and uses novel techniques to develop effective treatments for various medical conditions.
