Darrius J. Stallworth

Darrius J. Stallworth is a Community Development Specialist for the City of Tampa’s Homeless Outreach Team. He is a proud Tampa native who grew up in West Tampa. Being the youngest of three boys helped mold and shape him into the man he is today. Stallworth graduated from Blake High School and pursued higher education at Southwest Florida College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, fulfilling a promise he made to his grandmother before her passing.

Stallworth’s career in social services, particularly working with homeless populations, stems from his personal experiences. Between the ages of 18 and 24, he faced housing instability while pursuing his degree, so he lived with family and friends. This experience led him to make a personal commitment to help others in need, especially since he was unaware of available assistance programs during his own struggles. Stallworth’s personal experience with housing instability gives him a unique perspective in his role, allowing him to empathize with and better serve Tampa’s homeless population. His work aligns with the city’s efforts to address homelessness and improve the quality of life for all citizens.
